About
Welcome to Habits, a delightful new addition to the gastronomic scene nestled in the heart of Zolitūde, Rīga. Located at Zolitūdes iela 51, this up-and-coming eatery has quickly garnered attention for its inviting atmosphere and commendable culinary offerings. While the location may seem unremarkable, the experience here is anything but.
As you step into Habits, you’re greeted by a fresh and modern interior, complete with charming decor like an olive tree and cute coffee cups that add a touch of warmth and character to the space. The ambiance is designed to make diners feel at home, whether you're stopping by for a leisurely brunch or an evening meal.
The culinary highlights at Habits are truly something to rave about. Customers have praised the chicken shashlik for its flavorful seasoning and succulent texture. The menu also boasts irresistible dishes like lamb chebureki, which have received high recommendations for their unique taste. Fellow foodie Aleksejs Ivashuk expressed his satisfaction with the presentation and overall dining experience, stating that the fine service and delightful food make the slightly higher prices worth it.
The drinks menu deserves a nod as well, featuring a variety of cocktails that are both creative and delicious, ensuring there is something for everyone. Whether you’re indulging in brunch or a late-night dinner, the drink selection complements the meal perfectly.
However, it’s essential to note that while the food and drinks shine, the service has room for improvement. Some patrons, like Vlada Kitova, noted a lack of coordination during peak times, which can detract from an otherwise stellar experience. A more organized approach to service could elevate the dining experience even further, allowing the talented kitchen to shine without interruption.
Nevertheless, the heart of Habits lies in its commitment to quality food and a cozy atmosphere. It's clear that Habits has the potential to become a beloved local spot, with a loyal following among residents. For those venturing into the Zolitūde area, this quaint establishment promises a satisfying culinary journey paired with a welcoming vibe.
In conclusion, Habits offers a tasteful fusion of modern dining with classic flavors, making it a notable contender in Rīga's vibrant food scene. With mouthwatering dishes and a dedication to delightful dining, you’ll likely find yourself longing for that insanely delicious tartare long after your last visit. Don't miss out on this gem, as it’s sure to impress both locals and visitors alike!
“ Very delicious cocktails and food. Nice atmosphere and kind service. ”
“ Nice restaurant in Zolitude, very good quality for food, recommended to take lamb and “chebureki” with lamb meat! Tasty tea from Plukt! ”
“ I liked it. A bit on an expensive side but the service, atmosphere, and presentation makes it worthwhile. I ordered the chicken shashlik and was not disappointed. The place has decent wifi too. I'll have to come back and try their fish soup. ”
“ New spot in Zolitūde that recently became popular in social media. The brunch offer is quite good for the price. The food was really delicious, and the presentation was lovely - so kudos to the chef! The selection is classic - nothing overly creative - but it does the job if you’re looking for a decent breakfast. Definitely a good value for what you get. The interior is pleasant and fresh, especially since everything is still new. I especially liked the olive tree in the middle of the room and cute coffee cups. The building itself is quite nice for being located in a residential neighborhood, though the view of soviet-era blocks is admittedly a bit sad. But hey, it’s Zolitūde, so no surprises there.. The coffee and drinks are on the pricier side, especially for this part of the city, but fall within the general average Riga price range. Now, here’s where the experience took a downturn. We visited during Saturday brunch time, and the service felt very unorganized (taking into consideration that the place was quite empty on that day). There didn’t seem to be any experienced manager or senior staff present - just a team of young and polite (but seemingly untrained) staff. One girl brought the menu, another took the order, then a third came to ask if we were ready to order - all within a few minutes. Even after we had already placed our order, three more different girls came to the table asking if we were ready to make an order. This constant back-and-forth was clearly a result of poor coordination among the staff and could easily be improved by dividing the restaurant into service zones or assigning specific tables to each server. But the biggest disappointment was the young man who served our table. While he technically did his job, he wasn’t welcoming at all - in fact, he seemed almost irritated that we chose the brunch offer. His expression and attitude made us feel uncomfortable, which was really awkward given that the brunch deal was clearly promoted all around the internet. So coming there for brunch, I wouldn't expect receiving such an attitude for wanting to try a few options divided by 2 people.. Despite the service hiccups, the food was really good and well-presented, so i still think that it is really nice that they gave it a chance and opened at an unpopular location. For sure, people living nearby will appreciate it. ”
“ An absolute gem in Riga! The tartare? Insanely, unrealistically delicious, one of those dishes you think about long after the last bite. The atmosphere is modern yet cozy, with a welcoming vibe that makes you want to linger. Prices are pleasantly surprising, and the cocktail selection is both creative and extensive. A perfect balance of style, flavor, and heart ”
